Default IGN MMO Survey

Took this off one of my RPG sites:

There are a LOT of questions that I would attribute directly to GW. Let the voices of the masses be heard!

GW isn't an MMO.

It means the world is, well, persistent. In other words, when you log off, other players continue playing in the same server/world. This is opposed to a single-player game where it is essentially paused when you leave, or a game like UT2004 or BF2 that takes place on small-scale independent servers.

Nice survey indeed.

But... MMO on a handheld? Is that available/possible?

Oh I'm sure it's possible, but it likely wouldn't be the realtime 3D MMO's that we're accustomed to.

"Are you planning to purchase a next generation console? (Select all that apply.)

Xbox 360

I guess NO means Nintendo Revolution?

Well maybe if you take the "N" as Nintendo and the "O" to be a full circle (revolution) then you might...uh

hm, grasping at straws here.

Done the survey, almost embarrased to admit the amount of time I spend playing Guild Wars

They were pretty much listing currently played MMOs. D2 is too old for inclusion, I guess...though they did put in UO which is...ancient!

I think this pole is irrelivant, because GW was intended to break away from the MMORPG outline of games and aim towards a more competitive, grind-free environment where players fight against one another on equal ground, with very little preperation time. Asking normal MMO players what they want out of guild wars is like asking FPS players what they want out of World of Warcraft. It's stupid.

It isn't a poll specific to GW at all. It's very generic, in fact, and asks a lot of questions about console gaming, true MMORPGs and even tosses in a few about action RPGs with persistency.
